Anna Kathrina (Cathrine) Wulschlager married Johann Peter Elmer of Bilten, Canton Glarus Switzerland they emigrated to USA in 1847. They settled in New Bilten (Washington Twsp) in 1847. She was called Catherine in USA. Her parents were Heinrich and Margaretha Dinner Wulschlager. Her father is said to be from Austria orginally. Her children were Margaret 1852, Anna 1853, John 1854, Ameal, Jacob, Henry 1857. Catherine and Peter had 160 acres of farm land by the time that Peter disappears while taking a load of wheat to market in Milwaukee. She is left a widow. No record of what happened to her husband. She is forced to sell the farm. Her daughter Margaret married Caspar Bloom a Civil War Vet. in May of 1869, Caspar Bloom, is the son of Peter Bloom and Maria Elisabeth Schmidter Bloom. Catherine Elmer is buried in Dutch Hollow Cemetery next to her daughter Anna Elmer/Elmer who married Johannes Elmer of the 46th Inf. Civil War.
