SYRACUSE, IN-Carrollee Allen, 83, Syracuse, IN, formerly of Alexandria, IN, and Marathon, FL passed away Sunday, November 17 at Goshen Hospital. She was born October 22, 1930, in Anderson, IN to Raymond and Hazel Starr. On March 12, 1950 she married Rolland H. (Bud) Allen, Jr. She attended Purdue University and Ball State University. Carrollee taught elementary school in Elwood. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Alexandria and later in the St. Andrews Methodist Church in Syracuse. Most recently she taught Sunday School and was the leader of the Women's Bible Study. Her love of teaching led her to spend several years working with the students in Wawasee's Alternative Education Program. She was an avid reader, and played bridge several times a week.

She is survived by: Son Timothy (Janet) Allen, of Alexandria and New Port Richey, FL; Daughter Sharon (Timothy) Sigler, Syracuse, IN; Daughter Jennifer (Kenneth) Miller, Syracuse, IN; Six grandchildren: Brandon Allen, Eaton, OH, Alicia Allen, Los Angeles, CA, Jason Sigler, Syracuse, IN; Kristen Firestone, Leesburg, IN; Chasity Walker, West Burlington, Iowa; Amber Hollingsworth, Syracuse, IN.; Twelve great grandchildren; Brother Donald Starr, Fishers, IN; Sister-in-law Norma Reed, of Alexandria, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother David Starr, and son Gary Allen.
