Ruth L. Awald, 83, of Lafayette, formerly of Hamlet passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Lafayette, IN.

Mrs. Awald was born December 18, 1926 in LaPorte County, IN to John and Emma (Wilhelm) Bradley and lived in the Hamlet area all of her life.

On June 17, 1951 in LaPorte County she was married to Almy "Duck" Awald, who preceded her in death in 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandson. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lou (Gregg) Kempski of Chicago and Norma (Darrell) Pitts of Hamlet; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one brother, Russell Bradley of Monroeville, PA.

Mrs. Awald was a former Librarian at the Hamlet Library. She was a past member of the Hamlet United Methodist Church and the Kingsford Heights American Legion Lady's Auxiliary.
