Mr. Alexander was born March 27, 1943, in Cortez, Colorado, to Wilbur Lee and Mary Alma Doiel Alexander. He moved to the area, coming from Seattle, Washington, and attended South Tahoe High School.
He served in the U. S. Army and has been a resident of Gardnerville since the early 1970s. He traveled and managed bands in the early 1970s.
Mr. Alexander was one of the first members of the Hot Shot Crew in Nevada in 1975 and he worked for the temporary firefighters for Bureau of Land Management in 1976.
He was a D.J. "Famous James" for KGVM radio station. He enjoyed playing the guitar and fishing. He was an avid reader and loved to play poker with the boys.
Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alexander.
He is survived by his companion Susie Crocker of Gardnerville; son Jesse Alexander of Hawthorne; daughter Harmony Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz.; his sister, Constance Alexander of Minden and granddaughter Tawnie Alexander of Hawthorne.
Cremation will take place at Capitol Cremation.
