Edward Davis, age 80, of Sandstone, passed away on September 23, 2012 at Sophie's Manor in Pine City, MN.

Edward Martin Davis "Bud" was born on November 7, 1931 in Bruno, Minnesota to Uneta and William Davis. Bud graduated from Sandstone High School in 1951. After graduation he joined the Army and served as a MP while stationed in Germany.

In 1958 he married Wilma Busch in Hinckley, MN, and from that union they had two children, Gitona and Edward (Eddie).

In 1968 he married Carol Dornack in Austin, MN. Most of his life was spent living in St. Paul where he worked and retired from the US Postal Service. After retirement Carol and Bud moved to Sandstone, until Bud became ill and moved to Sophie's Manor in Pine City. Bud was a fun loving guy who would give the shirt off his back to help others. He always had a kind word about others and loved to tease. You could often see him with a smile on his face.

Bud was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill) Davis; mother, Uneta Anderson and stepfather Alton Anderson; brothers Keith Davis and Lloyd Anderson, sister Barbara Bartel and his wife Carol.

He is survived by his daughter Gitona (Jeff) Matrious, of Hinckley and son Eddie of Siren, WI; two grandchildren: Christopher (Melanie) Miklya of New Brighton, Jason Davis and Joy (Chris) Hyrkas of Becker, MN, five great-grandchildren, two step daughters: Charlotte (Dale) Knopp and Michelle (David) Nord, both of St. Paul; three brothers: Aaron, Clinton (Sandy) and Stanley (Pat) of Sandstone; three sisters: Elaine (Norman) Gutz of Canton, Mavis (Maynard) Franseen of Dandridge, TN, Linda (John) Talvitie of Princeton, and one sister-in-law, Delores Anderson of Corona, SD, plus many nieces, nephews and friends.
