Bruce was born to Wayne and Betty (Goor) Haycraft on Aug. 1, 1954 in Fairmont, MN. His father Wayne Haycraft was killed in a plane accident on June 18, 1961. He graduated from St. James High School in 1972. Bruce married Laurie (Landsteiner) Brandt on Sept. 22, 1979 and after about 11 years of marriage they divorced. Bruce has a daughter Jessica (Haycraft) Onstad, age 27, and a son Jordan Haycraft, age 24. He worked as a painter and carpenter for most of his life. His step-father Lester Urban passed away Aug. 4, 2002. In Sept. 2009 he was diagnosed with colon cancer. In February 2010 he became terminal and has stayed in Mankato ISJ hospital, Waseca hospital, St. James hospital, and finally in April 2010 moved to Madelia Luther Memorial Home. Bruce enjoyed fishing and hunting, woodworking and gardening, watching and attending sprint car races and birding he especially loved eagles.

He is survived by his daughter Jessica (Bredan) Onstad of Owatonna, son Jordan Haycraft of St. James, mother Betty Urban of St. James, brothers Charles (Joanne) Haycraft of St. James, Kevin (Deb) Haycraft of St. James, Carl (Ronalyn) Urban of Madelia, Danny Urban of Madelia, sisters Sheila (Charles) Wick of St. James, Cynthia (Timothy) Frantik of Olivia and Cindy Olson.
