Frank was born the son of Peter and Marie Nelson Anderson. The Anderson family lived at Clark, Rapid City, and Yankton and Frank attended schools at Rapid City and Yankton and graduated from the South Dakota School of Mines. In 1927 Frank moved to Jackson, MN and worked at the creamery there and in 1929 he and his brother, Bud, worked at the Fairmont Creamery at Fulda. On August 15, 1935 he and Agnes Ehlers were united in marriage at Westbrook, MN. Together they made their home in Fulda where Frank continued working for the creamery until 1940 when he went to work for the Dickson Implement Shop at Fulda. In 1949 Frank enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. After his discharge in 1945, Frank returned to Fulda and Dickson Implement which later became Roti Implement Business. In 1968 he went to work at Rich's Skelly Station and worked there until his retirement in 1973. Frank continued helping many of his friends and neighbors with odd jobs because he was well known for being able to fix anything. He became ill and was a patient at the Murray County Hospital at Slayton before passing away there at the age of 75 years. Frank was a member of the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church at Avoca and previously served on the church council. He was a member of the Fulda Legion Post No. 318, and the Fulda VFW Post No. 9017 and a charter member of the Fulda Fish and Game Club. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Frank & Agnes were the parents of Dorothy Prahm & Donna Appel.

Frank's siblings include Peter Jr., Earl, Harry, Alfred, & Berger (Bud).
