Robert Steven Tervola, 74, of Live Oak, Florida formerly a native to Bagley, MN died on Friday, May 1 2015 at Live Oak, Florida.

Funeral services will be held on, Thursday, May 7 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sell Lake Community Church South of Shevlin, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service also at the church. Interment will be at Old Sell Lake Cemetery in rural Shevlin, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with the arrangements.

Robert was born on July 8, 1940 in Wadena, MN to Axel and Emma (Thiedich) Tervola.

He attended Leaf Lake Country School in the Henning region and graduated from Henning High School in 1959. He went to North Dakota State University and received his Bachelors Degree in Agriculture in 1965. Bob worked at Glenwood in Pope County and then at Worthington in Nobles County where he was the Assistant County Extension Agent. On May 2, 1968 Robert married Sharon Egdorf. They moved to Bagley in 1968 where he worked for the Clearwater County University of Minnesota Extension Office as an Extension Director. He loved his job of working with farmers and 4-H groups. Bob received his Master’s Degree from the University of Minnesota in Agronomy 1984. Bob took a job as the Suwanee County Extension Director for the University of Florida for 10 years and retired in 1997. His interests include hunting, all wildlife, farming and guns. Bob loved Minnesota where he would spend the summer and the fall seasons. He was a big supporter of the Sell Lake Community Church. He was very close to the Lord in his daily work and devotions. In Bob’s later years, he was happy to be able to reconnect with the people from Clearwater County. Bob was a member of many organizations.

Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years – Sharon Tervola of Live Oak, FL; daughters, Jennifer (Keith) Stavig of Live Oak, FL, Tanya (Wayne) Phillips of Niceville, FL, and Shawna (Scott) Farrar of Clermont, FL; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers, Clifford, Clarence and Clayton.
