Pete Boybosa, 88, died Sunday in a local hospital.
Mr. Boybosa was born in Yugoslavia and came to the United States as a young boy, settling in Tehachapi. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in both the U.S. Army and Marine Corps. He had lived in the Napa Valley since 1935, working as a shipfitter at Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 30 years. He was also employed at Kaiser Clinic as a groundskeeper for several years. He enjoyed bicycling, traveling and being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Milena of Napa; two sons, Mel and Robert, both of Napa Napa; a sister, Mrs. J.J. Rauch of North Hollywood; four nephews and one niece. A sister and several nieces and nephews in Yugoslavia also survive.
At Mr. Boybosa's request, no formal services were held. Arrangements were under the direction of Napa Valley Memorial Gardens Mortuary.
