On May 4, 2012, Leonard was reunited with his wife in the heavens of our Lord.
Leonard was born in Tarpon Springs, Florida to the late Leonard H. Boaz Sr and Margaret Engel Boaz. He was raised in and around Nashville, Tennessee. Upon high school graduation, he entered the U.S. Army as a cryptologist during WWII. He then entered the National Security Agency after WWII and remained in the Army Reserves until the early 1950's. He continued as a cryptologist with the NSA until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and instilled his love of the outdoors in his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary E. Boaz and his sister, Margaret Ann Cason. He is survived by three sons, John E. Boaz (Mary) of Annandale, VA , Charles D. Boaz, (Linda) of Midland, VA and Tom Boaz of Lynchburg, VA and seven grandchildren: Kelly, Dan, Nicki, Charles, Ryan, Suzannah and Autumn.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Moser Funeral Home with the viewing from 10-11 am and the funeral service at 11 a.m. followed by the interment at Bright View Cemetery.
