Obituary Mrs. Hilda M. (Jones) Bakner, 87, of 228 Park Street, Mont Alto, PA, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Quincy Village nursing home. Born February 10, 1928 in Mont Alto, she was the daughter of the late James I. and Emma (Mentzer) Jones. She and her husband, the late Mr. Richard O. Bakner, were married June 7, 1946. Mr. Bakner passed away July 16, 1964. Prior to her retirement in 1990, Mrs. Bakner was employed at South Mountain Restoration Center for 15 years. She was a member of Mont Alto United Methodist Church where she attended Sunday school and Bible Study. She also was a member of Mont Alto Fire Hall Ladies Auxiliary where she was a dedicated volunteer at the annual Mont Alto Fireman's Carnival. Mrs. Bakner is survived by three sons, Jerry L. Bakner and his wife, Ellen, Darral E. Bakner and his wife, Judy and Jeffrey L. Baker, all of Mont Alto; five grandchildren, Stacy L. Harbaugh, Paul M. Bakner, Jill R. Bakner, Brent L. Bakner and Jenna M. Matthews; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Cauffman, a resident of Quincy Village; one brother, Dick Jones, a resident of Manor Care Health Services, Chambersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Barkdoll, Ruth McFerren and Margaret Bakner; six brothers, Jack Jones, Max Jones, Robert Jones, Claude Jones, Harry Jones and Roy Jones; and half-sister, Flo Rock. Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 19, 2015 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro with Pastor Thomas M. Osif officiating. Burial will follow in Quincy Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Friday, in the funeral home.
