Joseph Allison was born June 13, 1858 at Lacon, Ill., in which state he spent many years of his life. In 1915 he moved to Murray County and engaged in farming until ten years ago when he retired. Upon retirement he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Joe Miller, and in 1941 went to Sioux Falls to spend his sunset days.

He is survived by four children, Mrs. Winfield Held of Chicago, Mrs. John Miller of this city; Vernon Allison of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Mrs. Arthur Anderson also of this city. One sister, Mrs. Margaret Johnson of Chicago.
