Mrs. Mary Helgeson Carlson, widow of Stone Carlson, who died in May 1933, was buried last Wednesday afternoon, funeral services, conducted by Rev. O. P. Stensland, of Minneota, Minnesota, being held at the Hemnes Lutheran Free Church south of town.
Mrs. Carlson died at her home southwest of here Sunday, Dec. 16, at 10:50 a.m., after an illness of just a week. She was 69 years old, having been born at Neenah, Wisconsin, August 24, 1865. She came to this community with her parents, Ole and Mary (Margith) Helgeson, when just 13 years old, and grew up in this locality. She was married to Stone Carlson in August, 1888, and they had four sons and one daughters. Her husband died a year ago last May, and two of the sons have passed away.
The two sons surviving, Edwin and Albert, both live on the home farm in Lincoln county, and the daughter, Mrs. Herman Rasmussen, lives near Ivanhoe.
Pallbearers: W. B. Sook, Henry Furgeson, R. B. Sampson, Ed Blegen, Sam Halvorson and Peter Nelson.
Besides the three children, a brother, Henry Helgeson, of Badger, Minnesota, survives the deceased and Ole Helgeson, Dutton, Montana; and four sisters, Mrs. Gust Olson (Lena), Streeter, North Dakota; Mrs. Carrie Rue (Mrs. Ole G. Rue), Streeter, North Dakota; Mrs. Sam Halvorson (Betsy), Minneota, Minnesota; and Mrs. Hamlet Foster (Helen), Duxby, Minnesota.
