He was born Aug, 12, 1925, the oldest of seven children, in Winnebago, Minn., the son of Carl and Ruby (Jante) Aune. At a young age he moved with his family to Fergus Falls. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls, and received his education at Fergus Falls Public School.
He was a warm and caring man who enjoyed reading, golf, working with wood, square dancing, fishing, and watching sports (especially the Minnesota Twins and golf). He was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America where he was awarded the "Order of the Arrow" and was a member of the Elks and Eagles. He was also actively involved with the church. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife; daughters: Diane (Al) Bartsch, McMinnville, Ore., Debbie (Jim) Fulton, Thief River Falls, Denise (Mark) Larson, Fargo, and Doreen Aune, Eagan, Minn.; grandchildren: Staci (Sean) Barry, Darin (Katie) Bartsch, Adam (Becky) Fulton, Brent Fulton, Heather Larson and Lindsey Larson; great-grandchildren: Meghan and Emily Barry and Landon Fulton; sisters: Joyce Hegge, St. Paul, Donna (Bob) Roach, Campbell, and Deloris Elander, North St. Paul; brothers, Eugene (Marge) Aune, Fergus Falls, and Richard (Marlene) Aune, Becker, Minn.; a sister-in-law Kay Garner, West St. Paul; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gordon and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pat and Ida Martinson. Visitation: Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a "Time of Sharing" at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church Service: 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Church of Christ, Fergus Falls Clergy: Rev.
