Esther passed away peacefully on November 12, 2015. She was born to Rev. Primitivo and Pilar Villanueva on January 2, 1924 in Sonora, Mexico. After moving to Calexico with her two sons, she met and married Joe Aguilar. Esther was very active in the Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Esther is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Primitivo and Pilar Villanueva; her son, Gilbert Ramirez; siblings, Ofelia Cazares; brothers, John, David and Danny Villanueva.

Survivors include sons, Frank Ramirez and Robert Aguilar; daughter, Cindy Aguilar-McNish; grandchildren, Michael, Alina, Robert Jr., Stephanie, Esther, Amy, Sandra, Jessie and several great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Calexico. At Esther's request, in lieu of flowers, she wished donations be made to the United Methodist Women.
