Donald E. Baker, 21, of Cascade, Md., died at 11:40 a.m. Thursday at the Newton Baker V.A. Center, Martinsburg, W. Va. where he had been a patient since last December. He had been injured in an automobile accident in February 1974, and prior to being admitted to the V.A. Center was a patient at the Washington County and Western Maryland hospitals.
Born in Waynesboro, the son of John H. and Leona M. Martin Baker. He served with the U.S. Navy during Vietnam War.
He last worked at the Gettysburg Shoe Factory. A member of the Pen Mar United Brethren Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post at Cascade.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. David Krape, Gettysburg R. 5; three brothers, George S. Baker, William H. Baker, and Randy L. Baker, all at home; his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Edward S. Martin, South Mountain; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Brechbiel, Portage, Ind., and his paternal great grandmother Mrs. Carrie E. Brenneman, Hanover.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Pen Mar United Brethren Church with Rev. Gary L. Culler, officiating. The burial will be in the Bethel Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, from 7 to 9 tonight.
