She later returned to complete her high school education, graduating from Whitewater High School in 1949. She not only raised her three children, but helped raise Alex Murdock's children following the death of his wife. Vi and Bob owned and operated various ranches and farms in Phillips County, with her current farm located north of the old Bowdoin town site. She played an intricate part in their farm and ranch business. She was a woman of quiet strength and enormous faith. She was a devoted Christian and friend to many. Her subtle sense of humor was enjoyed by all the friends who knew her. Being of Norwegian and Swedish heritage, she was kind and generous with her blessings, always thinking of the needs of others over her own.
Interment will be in the Malta Cemetery.
