Loving daughter of Recil and Merle Cox Arnold.
In Memory of Linda
Linda fell in love with the Nancy Drew Mystery Stories as a young girl. She continued to reread those stories as an adult and became an avid collector of early editions.
Linda loved and enjoyed many other things and was able to share those things with me. She loved Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and many other classical composers. Her favorite instrument was the piano and she played popular and classical music with skill and class.
She loved Shakespeare and read and enjoyed everything that he wrote. She saved one last play to read because she didn't want to say that she had read them all. She read "Troilus and Cressida" in her last year.
She loved popular music. Her favorites included Elton John, The Beetles, Cat Stevens, The Eagles, Neil Young, James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, Enya and many others. Linda loved the poet songwriters and loved the lyrics as well as the sound.
A beautiful song, a sensitive novel, a sad or happy movie could easily bring Linda to tears. There are so many things that she loved that are too numerous to list. I became her last love and I am very privileged. This honor did not last long enough and the last night when I asked her if she had missed me, she said: "Always." Linda, I too will miss you, "Always."
As long as Classical Music is played, Shakespeare is read, and little girls fall in love with the mysteries of Nancy Drew, a little bit of Linda is still alive.
