Ethelyn was born February 26, 1917 in Wonsevu, Kansas the daughter of Nicholas and Edna Silver Sidener. The family came to Idaho shortly after her birth and she was raised in the Roswell community near Wilder and Parma. She married Jim Ragains in 1940 and they made their home in Wilder and they operated the Wilder movie theater. Jim died in 1971. She later married Joe Allen and they made their home on Joe’s farm south of Greenleaf. They enjoyed dances at the Caldwell Senior Center and they lived there until his passing about twelve years later.
Surviving are her step son, Bob and his wife, Betty Allen of Caldwell, Don and Alberta Allen of Sandy , Oregon, Anna Bick of Ogden, Utah and nephew, Jerry (Susan) Alley of Whitebird, Denny and Bonnie Ragains of Parma and LaVern and Jerry Girard of Grangeville.
