Carl V. Alger
-Carl V. Alger, 87, of Spirit Lake died Friday at Kootenai Medical Center. He was born to George and Alma Alger in Michigan on Feb. 27, 1900. As a young child he moved with his family to Montana. As a young man he farmed there.
-He later moved to California, where he learned the flooring business. In 1963 he moved to Spirit Lake for his retirement. In 1968 he married Marie Hall in Spirit Lake.
-Together, they owned and operated Algerís Antiques, from which they retired in 1976.
-He is survived by his wife, Marie, at home; one son, George O. Alger of Ennis, Mont.; one stepson, James Vedbig [Vedvig], at home; one daughter, Joyce Connolly, of San Jose, Calif.; one sister, Opal Finch, of Union City, Calif.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
-Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur díAlene, is in charge of arrangements.
