Elva Anderson

Elva Anderson, 60, of Main St. Williamstown, died suddenly Saturday at Columbus, Ga., where he and his wife, Garnet, were visiting a son, Arthur, in military service, before continuing on to Florida for a winter vacation.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hood funeral home in Marietta and interment will follow in the K. of P. cemetery in Williamstown.

He became ill at the Georgia city and died shortly after being taken to a hospital there. He had lived in Williamstown for many years but was born at Montgomery, W. Va., and had been a painter by trade.

In addition to his wife and his son, Arthur, he is survived by two other sons, Franklin and Warren, both of Williamstown; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ellen Merrow of Newark, O.; two sisters, Mrs. Chloe Dooley of Parkersburg and Mrs. Verdie Adams of Fayettesville, W.Va., and a brother, George, a resident of Ohio.

The body is expected to arrive in Marietta late Monday afternoon and friends may call at the Hood funeral home after 6 p.m.
