Funeral services were held Monday in the Cedarville Community church for Mrs. Mayme Allen, 68, who passed away in Sacramento November 29, 1961. Burial was held in the Eagleville Cemetery. The Rev. Karl Olson of the Alturas Federated Church officiated.

Mayme Francis Chambers was born October 8, 1893 near Adin to Charles and Mary Ann Chambers. The family moved to Surprise Valley while she was small and she attended schools here. She was married to Wylie Allen January 15, 1912 and to them were born seven children. One son, George, and her husband preceded her in death. In 1956 following the death of her husband she moved to Sacramento. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Dees of Cedarville and Via Perry of Yerington, Nevada; four sons, Darrel Allen, Raymond Allen and Howard Allen of Sacramento and Lester Allen of Sonora, Calif.; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Birdie Munroe and one brother Jhune Chambers of Lincoln, Calif. A sister, Mrs. Nora LaPoint passed away November 9 in Auburn.
