Charlie Chan passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer with his beloved wife at his side. His loving and easy-going personality will be missed by so many of those whose lives he touched. He was born in Stockton on May 17, 1931. He served in the Air Force and attended Stockton College (Delta College). He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years before retiring.

He is survived by his wife, Violet of nearly 50 years; children, Ricky Chan of Glendora and Debbie Nozuka of Sacramento; grandchildren, Laura Chan, Tyler Chan, Lindsay Nozuka and Kelsey Nozuka; and great-granddaughter, Kennedy Philips. He is also survived by brothers, Haye, George, Albert, Robert Hannon and sisters, Eva Yee and Bertie Wong. He was preceded in death by brothers, Way Bing and Henry.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California Street, Stockton, California on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at DeYoung Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 27, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Committal will be at the Stockton Chinese Cemetery.
