Davis, Fire Victim Was County Native
Joseph H. Davis, who with his wife was cremated in a fire that destroyed his home and contents early on Monday morning, was born and raised near the Four Locks. He was married to Miss Eldora Keiffer, of Magnolia, West Virginia and located there until the time of his death. He was a trucker and a lock tender. He was 60 years of age. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. James Sanders, Falling Waters, West Virginia; Mrs. Howard N. Ankeney, Charlton, Maryland; Frank of Two Locks; Charles, Cumberland and Hammel of Washington, DC.
Mrs. Davis was 52 years of age and leaves three sisters: Mrs. Mollie Robinson, Mrs. Annie Farlow, both of Oldtown, Maryland and Elizabeth of Chicago.
The funeral took place on Tuesday evening at 5 o'clock with services at the grave. Services were in charge of the Oddfellows, Red Men, Patrotic Order Sons of America and the Daughters of Rebekah. Mrs. Davis also belonged to the Daughters of Rebekah. The floral tributes were beautiful. The remains were interred in the Magnolia cemetery.
