Caroline Delight Allen was the daughter of Joseph Stewart Allen (1806-1889) & Lucy Diantha Morley (1815-1908). Her father had been a bodyguard for the Prophet Joseph Smith (Mormon Church). She married James Naylor Jones and after his death in 1865 she married his brother Elisha Jones. She was the mother of five children by her first marriage and six children by her second. She had lived through the mob persecutions in Missouri and Illinois, was a pioneer across the plains to Utah, and witnessed the Black Hawk Indian War and other privations in Utah Territory. Her father, Joseph Stewart Allen, was a renowned Indian fighter. Her first husband, James Naylor Jones, was a prominent church leader and a founder of several pioneer communities, including Orderville, Utah.

Caroline Delight Allen was my great grandmother. She bore many secrets to her grave. She is missed.
