She married David Armitage on 20 November 1937 in Fitchburg, Mass. David preceded her in death on August 24, 1965. David's military career brought them west through Maryland, Kentucky, Colorado, and finally Utah where David was the commanding officer of Dugway Proving Grounds.
Mary worked in various positions throughout her life. In Utah she worked for Auerbach's and the University Hospital Radiology Dept.
After retirement, Mary volunteered at the University Hospital Information Desk every Monday for many years. She made many friends through work, sports (golf, bridge, skiing, and hiking), clubs (Sew and Sewers, Garden Club, Dugway Survivors, and Ft. Douglas Officer's Wives), All Saints Episcopal Church, and through years of service to mankind.
She and David had two children: Mrs. Mary Joan Belfiore of Denver and David Baldwin Armitage of Salt Lake City.
