CORNISH, UTAH Ruby Eileen Creech, 82, passed away peacefully of heart failure, at her home in Cornish surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Ruby was born at home, August 10, 1921 in Easton, Kansas to Amada Faye-Gwartney and Herbert Ernest Wahaus. She graduated from Easton High School where she played on the girls basketball team. She attended business school in Leavenworth, Kansas.

She married Orville Lynn Creech, her High School sweet heart, Feb. 8, 1940 in Leavenworth, Kansas at his grandmothers home. February 11, 1940 she was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, by Orvilles uncle, Ray Sparks, in the swimming pool at Fort Leavenworth.

Ruby and Orville made their home in Easton, but moved to Oakland, Calif. In Jan. 1942. They bought a house in San Leandro, Calif. in 1943, just before Orville entered the service in WW-II. While Orville was in the Service, Ruby worked as a San Leandro Traffic Patrolman.

When Orville returned on leave, the family went to Logan, and were sealed together in the Logan LDS Temple on July 30, 1945, along with their two children Larry and Sonja. After the war they bought the Golden Poppy Dairy in Hayward, Calif., with its bottling plant and delivery trucks. She helped with the milking and bottling, then she and the hired man used to delivery grade A raw milk around the East Bay while Larry (7 yrs) stood on a milk crake and drove the truck, then she would take him to school.

Ruby was active in the East Avenue Womens Club and ran the Cub Scout activities for same. Ruby was also instrumental in the formation and operation of the Thunder Drums & Twirletts a drill team that performed all over California. She supported Larry, Sonja and Lynette, in this activity for several years. Ruby also maintained a beautiful rose garden with 119 bushes.

In July of 1951 the family sold their California holdings and moved to Logan, Utah for Orville to attend USAC, graduating in the spring of 1954 they moved to Benson Ward for a short time and then bought their first farm in Cornish and settled into what Orville loved doing best, dairy farming.

Ruby made many sacrifices for her husband and family. She loved cooking canning and sewing for her children and grandchildren. She was always there with something good to eat for someone who was ill or new in the community. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, homemaking and she has always been willing to share her love of music and beautiful singing voice.

Ruby has served faithfully in many church callings: young womens organization, primary president, homemaking leader, chorister, teacher, counselor, secretary, choir member and others. Her testimony of the gospel and love for her family were the main driving forces of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, two infant sisters, Ruth and Ester, brother Chester, Sisters Norma Dean Rice and Margorie, Son-in law Alton Bruce Daniels, Daughter-in-law Joann Donna Hoskins Creech.

She is survived by her children Orville Larry (Diane) of Smithfield, Ut., Sonja Kay Fulton of Hyrum, Ut., Lynnette Eileen (Terry) Hansen of Franklin, Id., Joseph Earl (Marilyn) of Cornish, Ut., Walter Herbert (Joyce) of Cornish, Ut..
