Alvina M. Keilwitz Armstrong, 84, of Cathlamet died Aug. 20, 2011, at the Hospice Care Center. She was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Chehalis, WA, to John and Clara Klawitter Ketchum.

She moved to Longview at the age of 15 and attended R. A. Long High School. She was a devout Christian, a member of Cathlamet Assembly of God Church, owned a nursery in Longview from 1949 to 1993 when she retired.

She married E. A. "Dock" Keilwitz, who preceded her in death in 1989; on June 7, 1997 in Cathlamet married Walt Armstrong, who died in 2009.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan Webb of Longview and Pamela Hight of Tacoma; three sons, Gary, Steven and Michael Keilwitz, all of Longview; a stepson, Danny Armstrong; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Elmer Adolph Keilwitz was born Jun 1 1918 in Gilead, NE, died Dec 28 1989 at 4117 Ocean Beach Hwy.; came to Cowlitz County from Nebraska in 1937, worked as a chlorine plant guard at Weyerhaeuser, retiring in 1977, and was a nurseryman for 50 years, served in the Navy in WWII, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
