According to his Naturalization Papers he was born Jan. 14, 1887 in Valdisotto, Italy. His given name is Erminio, and went by Herman, immigrated to the U. S. in 1911 at the age of 24. He sailed on the ships SS Brtittanio to France, and then on the SS La Bretagne to the U.S.. He became a citizen on Sept. 18, 1916. Known siblings are Christ (Chris) Bonetti, Joseph Bonetti, and a sister Mary Ann. On May 20, 1918 he married Mary Jane Foster, the daughter of James Foster and Jessie Norcross. They were blessed with four children, Catherine, Lawrence (Larry), Robert, and Joan. At the time of his death, they had been married for 71 years.

Wisconsin State Journal, 24 Dec 1983, Sat, P2 SPRING GREEN - Herman Bonetti, age 96, of Spring Green formerly of Dane, died on Thursday, December 22, 1983, at the Riverdale Nursing Home in Muscoda after an extended illness. Survivors include a son , Robert of Madison; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary on December 17, 1976. Complete funeral services will be held at St. John's Catholic Church in Spring Green at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 24, 1983. Father Kenneth Klubertanz and Father Trainor will officiate. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services at Richardson Funeral Home, North Cincinnati Street, Spring Green.
