"KIRTLEY ADAMS, 82, IN HOSPITAL
"Kirtley D. Adams, 82, retired veteran Green Line motorman and conductor, died at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital where he had been two weeks.
"A conductor and then a motorman for many years on the Ft. Mitchell line, Mr. Adams became a toll taker on the Short-Way Bridge between Covington and Newport when the carlines were discontinued.
"He was a native of Big Bone and lived at 2015 Greenup street, Covington.
"Mr. Adams was a 50-year member of Covington Lodge No. 109, F&AM, and was a member of Indra Consistory, Scottish Rite, and of Immanuel Baptist Church, both of Covington.
"His wife, Louise Bristow Adams, member of a pioneer Boone County family, died in 1953.
"Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Julia Rouse, Walton, and two brothers, B.W. Adams, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Presley Adams, El Cajon, Cal.
"Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Stith Funeral Home, Florence."
