ARTHUR BATES ARCADIA, OCT. 8---(Special)---Arthur Bates, 83, died this morning at his residence in rural Arcadia. He is survived by his widow, Mrs Rosa Walker Bates; a foster son, Isbon Murphy, of Ocklawaha; a brother, Aaron Bates, of Arcadia; three half-brothers, Frank Bates, of Vero Beach, Maston Bates and The Rev. Walter Bates of Arcadia and two sisters, Mrs. Arrenia Wuthrich, of Arcadia, and Mrs. Adna Mercer of Oakland, Calif.
Funeral Services for Arthur Bates of the Bunker Section near Arcadia will be held on Wednesday afternoon, October 10, at 3 P.M., at Oak Hill Church, with the Rev. Vernon Coker of Wauchula officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill. The Funeral procession will leave for the church at 2 P.M. from Cokers Funeral Home at Wauchula.
