Note: potential conflict: there is a family tree on Ancestry.com that contains a handwritten note supposedly by Ostelle that gives the names and dates of birth of the Rafter and Aaron families. She appears to have been raised by her grandmother, Bettie Davis Griffin, in the home of her aunt, her mother's sister, Tinnie Darby, wife of James W. Darby. This information is supported by the U. S. , Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007, a collection found on Ancestry.com: Ostell Rafter Aaron, DOB 11 Aug 1913 in Columbia, SC to Canealious (note: how it is spelled in the collection) Rafter and Emma Marsh; DOD 17 May 2001.
