A retired employee with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, he died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1942-46 as a private first class in the military police, in Rhineland, Germany. He was a prisoner of war and recipient of the Purple Heart. He was 84 and a native and resident of Oscar. Visiting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland on Friday, June 13, from 11 a.m. until service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Greg Daigle. Interment in False River Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Isabel David Bizette; a daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Terry Denson, of Lakeland; (Harris lived with Penny during his last years and she was his primary caregiver); two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Mary Falcon Bizette, of Jarreau, and Mark and Gwen Conley Bizette, of Baton Rouge; a sister, Lydia Jarreau, of Lakeland; a grandchild, Renee Keating, of Pride; and two great-grandchildren, Jenee and Holden Keating. He was preceded in death by his parents, Romain and Felicie Guerin Bizette; brothers, Harold, Clarence, Clifton and Douglas Bizette; and sisters, Nadage Fabre, Lucia David, Inez Cline and Ella Boudreaux. Pallbearers will be Charles Seguin, Terry Denson, Elgene Denson, Bobby Keating and Mark and Mike Bizette. He was a member of American Legion Post 248.
