On October 18, 2013, our dear loved one, Evangelist Juanita Beco was called home from labor to rest.

Juanita was born on May 6, 1939. Her parents are Lena Adams and Joseph Davenport. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in Lukeville, LA. She later moved her membership to Union Baptist Church in Brusly, LA. At Union she continued to be a dedicated Soldier in the Lord as she was in the Senior Choir, a Sunday School Teacher which later blossomed into the Sunday School Superintendent. She spearheaded the Vacation Bible School where she touched the lives of many children and helped mold them into Christian leaders today. As she spread her wings and soared as an eagle, she landed with her feet planted firmly at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church in Port Allen, LA. While being shepherded by Bishop Ernest Mills, Juanita was licensed by him to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She continued her work in the Army of the Lord by being the frontrunner for the prison ministries. A woman who was loved and cherished by all, her dedication as a Deaconess, and Sunday School Superintendent continued until her last days.

Evangelist Beco had a loving impact on those who knew her. She loved the Lord and loved to praise His name. She met the love of her life, Elbert Ernest Beco and stood faithfully with him for 26 years before he was called to be with the Lord.

Throughout Evangelist Beco's life, she worked tirelessly as an industrial chef, an insurance agent, an educator and also in the medical field. She was one of the Founders for Lukeville Headstart and was also a trailblazer for the Summer Feeding Program in WBR Parish, but most of all, she was a Soldier in the Army of the Lord. She marched fearlessly with the Late Reverend James Cleveland, praising like David. She was a member of the Voices of Zion and a leading light for WBR Community Gospel Choir.

Through the midst of all these accomplishments, Evangelist Beco obtained her Associate Degree in Computer Science at Delta Community College. While she kept Jesus as the Center of her joy, she moved forth and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Theology and Master's Degree in Counseling at Christian Bible College.

Going from her earthly tabernacle to her heavenly home, she leaves to cherish her memories her son: Gregory Sanders (Geraldine Bynum), her daughters, Sandy (Oley) Igbonagwam, Linda Sanders (Todd Purnell), and Betty Mims. Also, she leaves her grandchildren: Shancher Pullett, Stanley (Christy) Igbonagwam, Chidozie and Chigozie Igbonagwam, Lakendrick Sanders, Michael (Johnisha) Sanders, Lintrecia (Ron) Brady, Altaurius (Monica) Johnson, and LaRondric Johnson and 17 precious great grandchildren. She also leaves her stepchildren: Ernest Lee Beco (Selena), Roy Beco, Sr. (Brenda), Charles Beco, Sr. (Erica), Samuel Lanehart (Deloris), Mercedis Howard (Roosevelt), Johnnie Mae Williams (Conrad) and her former husband Jessie Lee Sanders.

In addition, she leaves her close friends and "road buddies," Odessa LeBlanc, Betty Morgan, Diane Johnson, Peggy Lejeune, Inez Breaux and Lou Ann Crockett. Also she leaves Scofield Grant, III who she called "Cousin" and loved him like a son of her own. There are also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Evangelist Juanita Dorsey Beco was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Ernest Beco, her parents Lena Adams & Joseph Davenport, her adopted parents, Alex and Rosa Scott, and her brother Isaac Norris Perkins; as well as her first husband, Jessie Lee Sanders.
