William J. Ahearn Jr., 73, of Frawley Drive, Baldwinsville, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Born in Mechanicville, he lived in Baldwinsville for 40 years. He retired in 1986 from Goulds Pumps, Baldwinsville and previously worked for General Electric. He was president of the Canton Woods Senior Center. He was a professional clown called "Billy the Kop," and an umpire for high school and men's and women's baseballs leagues in the Syracuse area for many years. He was a past member of Baldwinsville Lodge 644, Loyal Order of Moose, where he played Santa Claus for 35 years. He was a member of Baldwinsville American Legion Vernice Suttle Post 113 and VFW Post 153. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. Survivors: His wife, Frances R. of Baldwinsville; two daughters, Donna L. Hamilton of Cicero and Debra A. Ahearn of Baldwinsville; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Falardeau Funeral Home. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
