JERSEYVILLE – Helen C. Allen, 76, died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 1988, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Alton. She had been a legal secretary in the Alton area until retirement. Born in Jerseyville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nellie (Quinn) Allen. Surviving is a sister, Pauline Garrison of Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Hugh, Rich and Thomas Allen; and two sisters, Mary Marlin and Margaret Allen. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville with the Rev. Henry Schmidt as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Jerseyville.
