SPENCER - Sylvenas C. Ahart, 84, of Spencer, died Thursday, December 26, 2002, at Tioga Nursing Facility, Waverly, NY.

He was born in Spencer on August 30, 1918, the son of the late Giles Dudley Ahart and Mabel Laura Clark.

He was predeceased by his wife, Hilda (Tikkala) Ahart; and brothers, Ralph and Glenn Ahart. Sylvenas is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Patricia and Richard Smith, Denville, NJ; Donna and Bob French, Binghamton; Cindy and Anthony LaFaro, Spencer; son, Kevin Ahart, Spencer; 10 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two sisters, Elizabeth Golden and Louise Williams; nieces and nephews.

Sylvenas had served in the US Army during WWII. He had retired from IBM in Glendale. He was a member of Post #907 of the American Legion in Candor.

There will be no calling hours nor service at this time. Memorials may be directed to American Legion Post #907, Candor, NY 13743. Allen-Manzer Funeral Home of Spencer is handling arrangements.
