Norma Jean Bible. age 78, longtime resident of Okmulgee, died in Glenpool on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009. She was born on September 1, 1931 to Wiley and Mabel (Lewis) Sampson in Morris,Oklahoma. Norma worked and retired from the Okmulgee County Health Department. She was a member of the Grave Creek Baptist Church in Hitchita, Oklahoma.
Her parents, a daughter, Belinda Jean Bible, a brother, Will Sampson, two sisters, Vena Mae Randall and Shirley Sampson preceded her in death.
Survivors include eight children, Norman Eugene and wife, Cynthia Daniel of Muskogee, Sammy Lee Bass of the home; Tsianina and husband, Richard Wesley of Preston; Joseph and wife,Delana Bass of St Louis, MO; Monty Bass of Los Angeles, CA. Burtis Rand Bible of Tulsa; Emmett Dale Bible of Tulsa and Teresa Bible Hamilton and husband, Damon Hamilton of Glenpool; 24 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Sunday ,Oct. 25,2009 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home from 3-4 p.m. Wake service will be on Sunday ,Oct 25, 2009 at 7 p.m. and the funeral service will be on Monday, Oct 26, 2009 at 2 p.m. both at the Grave Creek Indian Baptist Church with Rev. Mitchell Taylor and Rev. Andrew Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Grave Creek Indian Cemetery in Hitchita, OK. Pallbearers will be Joe Bass, Dason Holmes, Gene Daniel, Gerald Deer, Nick Sanders, Dominique James, Damon Hamilton, Cody Bible & Chebon Bass.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Lowe, James Whitecloud, Jed Kitchkommie and Vernon Powell.
