California Dies At Leavenworth
LEAVENWORTH, Kan., March 10 - Sven Benson, 53, who was serving a 10-year sentence for violating the anti-narcotic act in the northern district of California, died at the federal prison here today. He was received at the penitentiary in July 1926. The body will be sent to Brawley, Cal.

In the 1930 U.S. Census Sven states he immigrated to the United States in 1901. He arrived in San Francisco, California on March 17, 1906. After a few years he started a hotel business as noted in the 1924 and 1926 California Voter Registrations.
According to the National Archives & Records Administration, Sven was arrested in San Francisco on April 6, 1926 and received at Leavenworth June 5, 1926. While in prison his occupation was a cow herder.
Sven's brother Carl also immigrated to the United States.
