Dec. 3, 1943: Pfc. Henry Adcock is in the Coast Guard in Hawaii.
He died in the John Chochran's Veterans Hospital in St. Louis. He was the father of one known daughter, Betty Mae (Adcock) Jones (1927 - 1962) who is buried in the Whitehall Cemetery.

Henry Herschel Adcock, a veteran of World War II, died Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at John Cochran Veterans Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

A native of Carrollton, Mr. Adcock was born Dec. 24, 1908, a son of the late John Adcock, and Mrs. Adcock.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Betty May Jones, Granite City; his mother, who resides in Carrollton; three brothers, Donald, Carrollton; Frank, Jerseyville, and Lawrence of Eldred, and six sisters, Mrs. Ivy Laird, Cottage Hills; Mrs. Alma Miller, Alton; Mrs. Opal King and Mrs. Dorothy Custer, Carrollton; Mrs. Lorraine Winters, Jerseyville and Mrs. Mary Baker, Eldred.

The body is at Mehl Funeral Home where rites will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in City Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Carrollton Post 114, American Legion.
