Mrs. Margaret Lee Keyting Nelson Succombs in California

Mrs. Margaret Lee Keyting Nelson, authoress and former resident of Salt Lake, died Saturday at her home in Carmel-By-The-Sea, Cal., of complications following an operation according to word received here Sunday.

Mrs. Nelson was the wife of Glenn J. Nelson, who under the pseudonyn of "Lee Sage" has gained renown through his western stories. Mrs. Nelson and her husband collaberated recently in the writing of a book called "The Last Rustler", the story of Lee Sage's life.

Mrs. Nelson was born 40 years ago in Denver, Colo., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Lee, and came to Salt Lake with her parents when quite young. Her father was a prominent mining man in both Colorado and Utah and at the time was the Chief Engineer for David Moffat, for whom the Moffat railroad was named.

Mrs. Nelson began writing poetry much of which was published in magazines. She also wrote fiction "The Last Rustler", being one of her last efforts. For many years she was active in fostering literary work in Salt lake, was a charter member of the Bookfellows' Club, an early member of the Ladies' Literary Club and the Short Story Club.

For the past three years Mrs. Nelson had been living in Carmel, devoting much of her time to scenario writing for a large motion picture company.

Mrs. Nelson was a graduate of St. Mary's College, South Bend, Indiana. While in Salt Lake she was an active member of the Catholic Woman's League.

She is survived by her husband, three children, Walter, Harry and Mary Lee Keyting, all of Carmel; one sister, Mrs. S.A. Moran and a brother Julius J. Lee, Salt Lake.
