Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church with A.B. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Mr. Atwood was born Aug. 19, 1933, in Front Royal, Va. He and Eva Hamilton were married in 1978 in Seymour.
He served in Korea in the Army. He moved to Seymour in 1955 and worked as a truck driver for the Permian Corporation for 20 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7871 and the Downtown Mens Bible Class.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Rick of College Station, Texas; a daughter, Candace Vickers of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Ruby Mitchell of Strausburg, Va., and Barbara Riddle of Charleston, S.C.; two stepsons, Terry Hamilton and Eldon Roy Hamilton, both of Rockwall, Texas; a stepdaughter, Becky Trimuar of Royce City, Texas; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.
