Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Lee (Green) Booker were held January 9, 1955 from the Smithville Methodist Church with burial in the Smithville Cemetery with Nabors Funeral Home in charge. She was the widow of the late J. M. Booker, and a retired school teacher. She had taught in Itawamba County for a number of years at Fulton, Turon, Van Buren, Evergreen and Mantachie. Born at Van Buren, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Meetum Green, she had lived in Smithville for 27 years. She died January 7 from a heart ailment which she contracted suddenly. She had been a member of the Methodist Church for a number of years, and was active in the Woman’s Missionary Society.

She leaves one stepson, Robert Booker of Shreveport, La.; and one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Drye of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Claude Green of Pontotoc; and one sister, Miss Mandy Green of Van Buren.
