With deep sadness, the children of Joan Adams, announce her passing on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Martin of Rockwall and Pat Penney of Seven Points; son Jeff Adams and his wife Becky of Payne Springs, son Bruce Adams and his wife Donna of Kaufman, son Kyle Adams of Payne Springs, daughter Carrie A Franco and her husband Paul of Gun Barrel City; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; and many beloved family and friends.

We also express great joy at her passing. She is no longer bound by her humanity or her mortality. She will no longer bear the burdens of this life but will live for eternity in the presence of her Lord and Savior.

Service will be held at Eubank Funeral Home in Mabank, TX on Sunday, September 4 at 2:00 pm, with visitation on Saturday, September 3 from 6 pm to 8 pm. There will be a simple graveside service at Red Hill Cemetery in Murchison, TX at 4:00 pm after the service.

Jessie Joan Adams was born on September 27, 1933 in Hutchins, Texas to parents Alva Richard and Carrie Anna Mae (Reeves) Simons and entered into rest on August 30, 2016 at the age of 82. Jessie was known as "Jody" by her husband, "JoAnn" by her family and "MeMaw" Jo by her precious grandchildren. JoAnn was strong in her faith and loved her family deeply. She was a collector of lighthouses and was an amazing artist. JoAnn loved being outdoors; water skiing, camping and fishing. She enjoyed crocheting and the holidays. JoAnn was an insurance underwriter for 32 years; and received a gold watch for her retirement. She was very involved with her children growing up. JoAnn was a Scout leader, helped with PeeWee baseball and football. She was very active and helped charitable events by making crafts to sale. JoAnn was a member of First Baptist Church of Gun Barrel City; where she was the church secretary, taught Sunday school and helped with the children's music ministry. She was a very loving and caring lady who will be missed tremendously by those who loved and knew her.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy Joe Adams and 3 sisters; Josephine, Pauline and June.
