He was also called S.W.. Sam was born in about 1869 (According to 1900 Federal Census. He was 30 years of age in June of 1900). My mom was literally guessing dates but she thinks she is pretty sure of his date of death being December 19, 1953. He is buried between his two wives. His first wife was Dora Brasher and they had two daughters. Their daugther's oldest daughter's name was Minnie. She died shortly after giving birth in Arkansas. His second daughter was Zeffie. Dora died from some kind of illness.

His second wife was Lena Georgia Wilson. Their union was blessed with 4 children that reached adulthood: Samuel Washington (he is called Junior) Simpson, III, Sammy "Eunice" Simpson, Hazel Nell Simpson and Charles "Chuck" Henry Simpson . Lena had two children from a previous marriage to Sam Neal. They were Agnes Lucille Neal and Melmoth "Red" Neal.

Also according to old Federal Census records from 1930, S.W.'s father was from Wales and his mother, Sarah C. Swindle, was from Alabama. S.W.'s father's name was Samuel Washington Simpson, Sr. . Also, S.W. only had one arm.

S.W. also fathered a child with his stepdaughter, Agnes Neal (married name Roberson). His name was Bob Simpson. The terrible story about this is that S.W. sent his wife, Georgia, to the Whitfield Sanatorium, the State of Mississippi public mental hospital. After the state evaluated Georgia they determined that there was nothing wrong with her. Georgia was then put in charge of helping to take care of the patients there. When Georgia went back home, Agnes was either pregnant with or had already given birth to Bob (Bob was the only child that Agnes had). S. W. literally sent Georgia away so he could have his way with Georgia's adult daughter. Agnes and her mother had a wonderful relationship and this new baby didn't change their relationship. My Mother has told me awful things about her Papaw S.W.
