Lucille Carter Dowden, 82, died Monday, April 2, 2007, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at McIvor M. B. Church in Sardis. Dr. Eugene Whiting will officiate. Burial will be in McIvor Cemetery in Sardis. Visitation will be Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. at Cooley's Mortuary and also Saturday 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at McIvor M. B. Church. Cooley's Mortuary has charge.
Dowden was born December 25, 1924 in Como to the late Lozie Carter and Mary Ella Webb. She was a retired assembly line worker for Sardis Luggage Company and a member of McIvor M. B. Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mildred Washington of Sardis; four sons, Willie James Dowden, Samuel Dowden and Cecil Dowden, all of Sardis and Melvin Dowden of Memphis; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
