She was born in Dillon SC on June 17, 1928 to the late Author Hunt and Alberta Goins Hunt. She formerly worked as a seamstress for Fairmont Knitting Company.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Cleveland Hunt, James Howard Hunt and Author Dean Hunt; a daughter, Gail Hunt; a grandchild, Rusty Hunt; a brother, Carrol Hunt; and a sister, Vertis "Nangy" Hunt.
Mrs. Hunt is survived by four sons, Johnny Hunt and wife Ann of Fairmont, Robert Hunt and wife Dolores of Lumberton, Mearl Hunt and wife Barbara of Leslie, SC and Bobby Hunt and wife Mary Sue of Lumberton; three daughters, Judy Hunt-Roach of Lumberton, Lisa Britt and husband Allen of Lumberton and Sheila Barksdale and husband Curtis of Fairmont; a sister, Pearlie Mae Langley of McCall, SC; twenty one grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, one god-child; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Alton Ray Oxendine, Rev. Shannon Thomas Howard, Rev. James Arthur Hunt and Rev. Robert Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens in Lumberton.
