HILLMAN ABBOTT

MANTEE - Hillman Abbott, 74, died Monday, August 2, 1999, at his home. He was born June 1, 1925, in Chickasaw County. He was a retired farmer, an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of College Hill Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City with the Rev. Mike Ramage and the Rev. Floyd Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Winnie Abbott of Mantee; one daughter, Bettie Rodgers of Mantee; two stepdaughters, Janice Ricks of Springtown, Texas, and Judy Barber of Ripley; four stepsons, Jerry Wren of Hernando, Jimmy Wren of Saltillo, John W. White of Tupelo, and Lesby Lee White, Jr. of Dothan, AL; two sisters, Opal Hood of Ackerman and Mozelle Hood of Eupora; one brother, Woodrow Abbott of Calhoun City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Hood, Buddy Abbott, Robert L. Abbott, Boyd Hood, Advie Earl Abbott, Joe Edmondson and Dan Womack.
