A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jeanne Marie Hanssen Bunker, 81, of Durant, OK will be held on Thursday, April 29th, 7:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church. Pastor Craig Scavo will officiate. A light supper will be held for the family and friends at 5:30 PM at the Church.
Jeanne was born on June 23, 1928, in Haxtun Colorado, to Ernest Louis and Lela Christina (Clark) Sommerfeld and stepped from her earthly life to live in eternity with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on April 23, 2010 at the Medical Center of SE OK.
She was married to Albert Edward Hanssen on November 19, 1947. She was a loving, hard working ranch wife for the 47 years they ranched in Westcliffe, CO. She was a devoted mother of two girls who grew up on the ranch.
After Albert's death she married Thomas H. Bunker in Pueblo. CO on July 23, 1993. They enjoyed many years together traveling. The have lived in Durant, OK the last 5 years where they spent every Saturday night they could dancing with friends at "That Country Place".
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; father in law, Edward Hanssen and wife Clara Ulsh Hanssen; 1rst husband, Albert Edward Hanssen; sisters in law, Ruby Hanssen Geroux and Hazel Hanssen Camper Schultz and her husband Norman Schultz; her sisters and their husbands, Norola Sommerfeld Koehler and Don and Virginia Sommerfeld Bottler and Phillip; and nephew Ernest Bottler.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Thomas H. Bunker of the home; daughters, Christina Swan and husband Stanley of Durant, OK and Jackie TwoEagles and husband Clah of Penrose, CO; brothers, D.D. Sommerfeld and wife Lela of Portland, OR, Kenneth Sommerfeld and wife Beverly of Saint George, UT and Keith Sommerfeld and wife Marty of Greeley, CO; sister in law, Lois Bunker Vanderpool of Pueblo, Co.; grandson, Sterling Swan and wife Kelley of Quitman, TX; granddaughters, Jodi Miller of Pueblo, CO, Judy Bollig and husband Jeff of Canon City, CO and Shannon Keogh and husband Jeff of Derby, KS; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends in Colorado and Oklahoma who will miss her loved and her kindness.
Interment of her remains will be held for her extended family and many Colorado friends at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Westcliffe, CO, at a later date to be announced.

Brown's Funeral Service, Durant handled the arrangements. Faith Lutheran Church handled the memorial service in Oklahoma and Hope Lutheran Church will handle the memorial service in Colorado.
