Bill Armsden, of Pearce/ Sunsites, died Feb. 11, 2006, in Tucson at the age of 71. He was born on Dec. 15, 1934, in Buffalo, N.Y.
Bill served in the U.S. Marines and was an electrician. He owned and operated Armsden Electric in Sunsites. He was a 25-year member of the Cochise Stronghold Lions Club and had served as President four times. He was Past President of the Kiwanis Club in Sunsites, a member of the Willcox Masonic Lodge #10 F. & A.M., Scottish Rite of Tucson and the Sabbar Temple. Bill also had served as Asst. Fire Chief in Sunsites for five years.
He is survived by his wife Diana of Sunsites, whom he married in Bowie, on March 26, 1973. His sons Jason (Sue) of Blairsville, Ga., Steven of Appomattox, Va., and Richard (Rhonda) Rohr of Sierra Vista; and daughters Amy (John) Miller of Hilton, N.Y., and Lisbeth Armsden of Winter Haven, Fla., also survive him. Also surviving is his brother Reginald of Richmond, Va., and six grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his parents Edward and Amy (Taylor) Armsden.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m., at the Community Church of Sunsites. Burial followed in the Pearce Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Cochise Stronghold Lions Club.
